Winter 2017: Virginia Woolf’s “Orlando”

Orlando is a wild ride. It is the tale of a young nobleman who starts his journey in 16th-century England, lives through various delusions and confusions, travels to faraway places, and finally – after his metamorphosis into a woman – arrives in the present day and age.

From rural England through Europe back to London.
From the court of Elizabeth I. to the Roaring Twenties of the 20th century.
From being a young nobleman to a modern woman.

Sounds confusing? – Maybe, but nobody said that five hundred years of history, several countries and the diversity of various genders combined in one person would be simple.

With Orlando the maniACTs are presenting the stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s world famous novel, which turns out to be a biography, a fairy tale and a love story all in one.
